What Happens When You’re Ready to Rise… and Life Knocks You Flat

Last week was supposed to be the week I showed up strong.

A Plan Interrupted

I had everything mapped out—social media content, calls to make, business goals ready to crush. I told myself, “This is the week I make up for lost time. This is the week I prove I’m really doing this.”

But life didn’t care about my calendar.

My husband was in the hospital. I got sick—flat in bed for four days. I missed a sales training. I missed a networking event I had been looking forward to. And just like that, my momentum came to a halt.

And it hurt.

Not just physically—but emotionally. Because when you’re finally ready to go after something big, something that matters… and life hits back? It makes you question everything.

Am I really ready?
Is this even the right time?
What if I can’t juggle all of this?

A Divine Wink

But even in the disappointment, something beautiful happened.

That same week—on a day when I received some frustrating news at work—I came home to find out that my real estate license was officially approved by the state of Illinois.

After passing my exam in March and submitting everything right away, the approval process took longer than expected. But that day—April 29—I finally got the news I had been waiting for.

I am now a fully licensed Illinois Realtor with Exit Realty.

It felt like a divine wink. A reminder that the seeds I planted were still growing—even when I couldn’t show up the way I wanted to.

Pushing Through the Fear

And now, I’m being stretched again.

Because now that I’m licensed, it’s time to announce my business. It’s time to call people I know—to let them know I’m open, I’m available, and I’m ready to serve.

And I’ll be honest… I told my husband the truth: I’m afraid.

Not because I doubt my ability—but because this part is personal. Making those first calls feels vulnerable. Reaching out to people I know and saying, “Hey, I’m doing this now” makes it real.

But then I reminded myself—I’m not trying to sell a house on this first call.

I just need to say hi.
I just need to say, I’m here. I’m in business.
That simple truth took some of the fear away. Not all of it—but enough for me to start.

So today, I’m making my first calls.

I’m choosing courage over comfort. I’m choosing momentum over perfection. I’m choosing to believe that even small steps count when they’re aligned with something bigger.

The Next Big Decision

Now, I’m facing another decision. A big one. I’ve worked at Starbucks for two years. I’m proud of the way I lead, the people I support, and the stability it’s provided. But I can feel it in my bones: the pressure has changed. The company has changed. And maybe… I’ve changed, too.

I’m not sure I can keep pouring into something that no longer fits the future I’m building. The schedule, the stress—it’s costing me more than it’s giving.

So I’m asking myself a hard but honest question:
Is this still the right place for me?

A Moment of Truth

I don’t have the full answer yet. But here’s what I do know:

I’ve never been more committed to building a business that honors my values.
I’ve never been more certain that I’m called to this next chapter.
And I’ve never been more aware of how fragile—and how powerful—these defining moments really are.

You don’t need perfect timing to change your life.
You don’t need permission to step into your next level.
You just need one moment where you say, “I’m ready—even if it’s messy.”

This was mine.

Your Turn

So now I ask you:
What’s the moment you’re waiting for?

And what if the delay, the setback, the chaos in your life right now… is actually the sign that it’s time?

If you’ve been sitting on the edge of a decision—whether in your business, your finances, or your next chapter—this is your nudge.

You don’t need to have it all figured out to take the first step.
You just need to take it.

And if you’re feeling that tug in your chest right now—that small voice whispering, “This is your time”…
Don’t ignore it.

Even if you don’t know what to say, I invite you to reach out. Message me. Share your moment. Let’s talk.

Because sometimes, just saying “I’m here” is the most powerful first step you’ll ever take.
And I’ll be right here cheering you on.

If you’re building a business, starting your real estate career, or finally taking that leap—reach out. Let’s talk.
